Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań nad stratygrafią lessów na Wyżynie Opatowskiej, leżącej na przedpolu Gór Świętokrzyskich. Autor krytykuje wcześniejsze prace, które opierały się wyłącznie na naturalnych odsłonięciach w wąwozach erozyjnych, często dostarczając niekompletnych lub stronniczych danych, ponieważ pokrywa lessowa w tych obszarach mogła zostać wtórnie przemieszczona.
