ORIGINAL TITLE: Originalité des phénomènes périglaciaires au sud de la Méditerrannée
The article examines periglacial phenomena in North Africa, where climatic and orographic conditions differ from those in temperate zones. Three regional environments are identified: humid cool mountains, cold semi-arid zones and arid pre-Saharan areas. Landforms such as solifluction lobes and stratified scree are linked to freeze–thaw cycles and Quaternary pluvial phases. The study highlights the need for research methods adapted to local contexts.
