Peer review process

1. Every paper is reviewed by at least two independent (external) referees.

2. In case of texts written in a language different from Polish, at least one of the referees should be affiliated with a non-Polish academic institution.

3. Whenever possible, the journal uses double-blind peer review, which means that both the referee’s and the author’s identities are concealed.

4. In other situations, the referee needs to declare that they have no conflict of interest. A conflict of interest is understood to exist when the author and the referee:
a) have a direct personal relationship (blood or legal relationship, a conflict),
b) have a superior/subordinate professional relation,
c) have collaborated on an academic project over the last two years before the peer review process.

5. Submitted in a written form, the reviews should be objective and should state clearly whether the article should be accepted for publication (with no significant revisions or after some revisions) or should be rejected.

6. The rules of the peer review process are publicly available at the journal’s website.

7. The names of the referees who reviewed specific articles are not revealed. The website features a general list of referees who have collaborated with the journal.

8. The referees are obliged to maintain confidentiality with regard to the articles they have been asked to review.
