Abstrakt

Artykuł przedstawia przegląd obecnego stanu wiedzy na temat zagłębień i jezior termokrasowych w regionach występowania wiecznej zmarzliny w Ameryce Północnej. Formowanie się tych form terenu jest wynikiem procesów termokrasowych, gdzie topnienie lodu gruntowego prowadzi do zmniejszenia objętości gruntu i powstawania zagłębień na powierzchni. Zagłębienia termokrasowe powszechnie przekształcają się w jeziora, które są liczne i szeroko rozpowszechnione w całej Arktyce.
