glossary of permafrost, permafrost conditions, contemporary permafrost, fossil permafrostAbstract
This volume presents permafrost terminology, including 245 of the most frequently used terms, presented in five languages: English, French, German, Russian, and Polish. This work is the result of an attempt to summarize the most important concepts in this field. The authors intend to update it periodically, encouraging comments and suggestions regarding the choice of term definitions and format, as well as their submission, in order to improve and standardize the permafrost terminology.
