Report on periglacial research in Italy

Abstract

This text contains a report on the study of periglacial processes and forms in Italy. During the period 1952-1956, the most active research was on contemporary periglacial phenomena in the Alps. Periglacial elements of Pleistocene moraine complexes in the Alpine foreland and the vicinity of Rome were also examined. Proposals for the classification of cryonival forms are presented, indicating their size and age.
