Abstract

Structures of thermal contraction occurred in the Norsk Quarry near Yaroslavl on the right bank of the Volga are discussed. An evident two-storeyed pattern of wedge structures is connecied to vigorous activity of freeze and thaw processes in the active zone of permafrost.
