Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań peryglacjalnych prowadzonych w rejonie Cieśniny McMurdo na Antarktydzie. Autor opisuje procesy eoliczne i ich znaczenie w kształtowaniu osadów piaszczystych, zwracając uwagę na obecność wydm oraz charakterystycznych pokryw niwalno-eolicznych. Szczególne znaczenie przypisuje transportowi ziaren kwarcu i drobnych otoczaków przez wiatr oraz ich roli w rekonstrukcji paleoklimatu. Analizowane są także formy wynikające z działania mrozu (poligony mrozowe, żłobienia, tafoni), zróżnicowanie osadów morenowych oraz niewielka intensywność erozji glacjalnej w porównaniu z innymi obszarami świata. Badania potwierdzają wyjątkowy charakter procesów peryglacjalnych w Antarktydzie, ograniczonych do terenów wolnych od lodu (ok. 250–300 tys. km²), oraz ich kluczową rolę w zrozumieniu ewolucji środowiska plejstoceńskiego i współczesnego.
