Rozkład zjawisk peryglacjalnych w północno-zachodniej części Sørkapp na Spitsbergenie

W trakcie kolejnych sezonów letnich (1957–1959) autor prowadził w północno-zachodniej części Sørkapp obserwacje mikroreliefu peryglacjalnego oraz niektórych procesów morfogenetycznych występujących na współczesnych obszarach peryglacjalnych. Szereg przekrojów terenowych poszerzył naszą wiedzę o takich zjawiskach jak: kręgi kamienne, poligony szczelin mrozowych i kamienne poligony, gleby prążkowane, jęzory soliflukcyjne, pola kamienne, odsłonięte ściany skalne, żłobienia mrozowe oraz kopuły lodu międzyziarnowego, a także żwiry warstwowane. Podjęto próbę określenia skuteczności wietrzenia mrozowego oraz szybkości procesów soliflukcyjnych. Analiza rozmieszczenia form i zjawisk peryglacjalnych w północno-zachodniej części Sørkapp pozwoliła przede wszystkim stwierdzić, że są one uzależnione od: charakteru wcześniejszego rzeźby terenu, litologii, rodzaju materiału skalnego, a także od lokalnych warunków klimatycznych i hydrograficznych. Analiza rozmieszczenia umożliwiła również wyróżnienie dwóch różnych stref: (1) strefy wschodniej, gdzie procesy morfogenetyczne są bardziej intensywne, a częstotliwość występowania mikroform peryglacjalnych jest większa, oraz (2) strefy zachodniej, w której mikroform peryglacjalnych jest nieco mniej, a aktywność procesów morfogenetycznych jest słabsza. Szczegółowa mapa przedstawia rozmieszczenie wszystkich zjawisk peryglacjalnych w północno-zachodniej części Sørkapp.
