The paper discusses studies on Pleistocene periglacial phenomena in the USSR based on A.I. Popov’s concept. It covers the formation of loess, dunes, periglacial flora and fauna, and the impact of climate change on Caspian and Black Sea levels. These findings are crucial for reconstructing Pleistocene palaeogeography.
