Abstract

This study examines the origin of dry valleys on the Chalk scarps of southeast England, focusing on the Devil’s Kneadingtrough in Kent. Evidence suggests they formed mainly during the Younger Dryas due to niveo-fluvial erosion, driven by high humidity and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
