stratified slope deposits, sheetwash, Younger DryasAbstract
Stratified slope deposits or grèzes litées are described from northern Cumbria, England. The stratigraphy, morphology and lithology of the deposits is examined and results of fabric and particle size and shape analyses are discussed. lt is suggested that the grèzes litées originated as periglacial slope deposits probably during Younger Dryas (pollen Zone III) time.
