Zjawiska peryglacjalne w oazach i górach Ziemi Enderby oraz Ziemi Królowej Maud (Wschodnia Antarktyda)

Niniejszy raport przedstawia wstępne wyniki badań terenowych poświęconych szczególnie problemom kriogeologicznym. Z punktu widzenia kriogeologii, obszary oaz i gór na Ziemi Enderby i Ziemi Królowej Maud stanowią idealny teren, gdzie w różnych strefach i typach rzeźby można badać formy i procesy kriogeniczne (występujące w ekstremalnie zimnym i suchym klimacie niwalnym). W ramach badań procesów geliwacji, a zwłaszcza przemieszczania się materiału, zarejestrowano różne typy lodu oprócz lodu w ciałach lodowcowych. Geliwacja przyjmuje zazwyczaj formę kongelifrakcji, a jej wynikowe formy to szczeliny o szerokości do kilkudziesięciu metrów, spękania, obalone bloki i deluwia kongelifrakcyjne. Badano również mikrogeliwację w połączeniu z eolizacją na formach o strukturze plastra miodu. Rozwój i rozmieszczenie form o strukturze plastra miodu ma w tych obszarach duże znaczenie, ponieważ mogą one być wykorzystane w genetyczno-stratygraficznych ocenach osadów, zwietrzeliny skalnej oraz w badaniu paleogeograficznego rozwoju rzeźby erozyjnej (denudacyjnej).
